Goshens

Stewarding Together

People gather. Relationships form. Missions become clear. Stewardship follows.

Goshens helps people find one another, organize around shared purpose, and build real things together.

1

Four simple concepts

Different purposes. No required path.

Community

Gather

A broad place for people who share a calling, place, interest, concern, or way of life.

“These are people I align with.”

Natural builders · Homeschool families · Arizona homesteaders · Entrepreneurs

Circle

Form

A smaller group focused around a specific purpose.

“These are people I want to pursue this with.”

Circles are where relationships deepen, ideas are tested, plans form, and shared mission becomes clearer.

Goshen

Steward

A body of people taking responsibility for something together.

“This is what we have agreed to carry.”

Business · School · Farm · Ministry · Cooperative · Organization · Place · Mission

Project

Do

Concrete work undertaken by a Goshen.

“This is what we are doing.”

Projects organize milestones, updates, resources, and the real work flowing from stewardship.

This is not a ladder. A Community may remain a Community. A Circle may remain a Circle. And if you already know what you are building, you can create a Goshen directly.

What a Goshen can be, in practice

  • Farms

  • Businesses

  • Education

  • Ministries

  • Homes & neighbourhoods

  • Skills & trades

2

How something becomes a Goshen

There are many ways. Here are a few common paths.

Start directly

YouForming GoshenEstablished Goshen

Create the Goshen, define what is being stewarded, and invite people as it takes shape.

Established once at least 2 confirmed Members and 1 Steward have gathered.

Grow from a Circle

CommunityCircleGoshen

A Circle can form a Goshen when its people move from planning and alignment into shared stewardship and execution.

Members, conversations, and useful history can continue with it as it graduates.

Deepen a Community

Community remainsStewardship body forms

A Community can remain the broader gathering while a smaller confirmed body takes responsibility for stewarding something real.

Everyone in the Community does not automatically become a Goshen Member — only confirmed people enter the deeper body.

3

Gather. Form. Steward. Do.

This is the order things commonly happen in — not a requirement. A Community may stay a Community. A Circle may stay a Circle.

  1. Community

    Gather

People come together around something shared.

  2. Circle

    Form

A smaller group takes shape around a specific purpose.

  3. Goshen

    Steward

That group takes responsibility for something real.

  4. Project

    Do

The actual work being stewarded gets done.

Within a Goshen, a smaller group — its Stewards — carries responsibility for its care and direction.

For example: Arizona Homesteaders the homestead families Sonoran Homestead Community House.

4

What happens inside a Goshen?

Once a Goshen forms, its Members can organize people and work around what they are stewarding.

Circles

Organize people.

Builders · Education · Food & Agriculture · Apprentices

Projects

Organize work.

Community House · School Launch · Farm Expansion · Tool Library

Needs & Offers

Share what is needed or available.

Resources · Services · Supplies · Opportunities

Circles organize people. Projects organize work.

5

Communities and Goshens stay connected

A Community can continue gathering people broadly while different groups establish Goshens around specific stewardship.

Arizona Homesteaders

Community

  • Sonoran Homestead — Goshen
  • Desert Seed Cooperative — Goshen
  • Arizona Homestead School — Goshen

The gathering can remain broad while stewardship becomes specific.
